The University of Embu School of Law is proud to announce that our students Keith Mwirigi and Lucy Kamau have clinched the championship title at the 2nd Edition of the Daystar Media Moot Court Competition, held from September 1–4, 2026, at Daystar University's Athi River Campus. Competing against law schools from across East Africa, our team demonstrated exceptional legal research, written advocacy, and oral argument skills to emerge as the regional champions.

The competition, themed "Cross-Border Advocacy, Shared Public Rights" brought together emerging legal minds to tackle pressing contemporary issues including digital rights, media freedom, privacy, and freedom of expression. The event provided a rigorous platform for students to engage with complex legal questions affecting the East African Community, testing their ability to analyse problems, research applicable law, and present persuasive arguments before panels of expert judges. The University of Embu's victory reflects the School of Law's commitment to nurturing skilled advocates prepared for the demands of modern legal practice.

This achievement underscores the School of Law's dedication to excellence in mooting and experiential legal education. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Keith Mwirigi and Lucy Kamau for their outstanding performance. The School of Law remains committed to providing students with opportunities that sharpen their advocacy skills and prepare them to become distinguished legal practitioners in Kenya and beyond.
