The University of Embu School of Law Receives Generous Book Donation

The University of Embu School of Law recently received a substantial donation of academic resources from Hon. Prof. Kariuki Muigua, OGW, of Kariuki Muigua and Company Advocates (KMCO) in Nairobi. The donation, comprising 109 books and 68 journals, was presented by Advocate James Njuguna to Dr. Johana Kambo, Dean of the School of Law, and Prof. Jackson Wachira, Registrar for Academics, Research & Extension. This generous contribution was made as part of KMCO’s 2024 Customer Service Week initiatives, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to education and community support.

Prof. Muigua, a former senior adjunct lecturer at the School of Law and the Managing Partner of KMCO, has long been a supporter of the institution. Advocate James Njuguna, a partner at KMCO, also serves as a part-time lecturer at the University of Embu School of Law.

Both the Dean and the Registrar expressed their deep appreciation for Prof. Muigua’s generous donation and his ongoing support of the School. Dr. Kambo also highlighted the valuable mentorship provided by Prof. Muigua and Adv. Njuguna, which has enabled undergraduate students to publish in the prestigious Alternative Dispute Resolution journal.

Recent student publications in the journal include works by Precious Tabitha, Christopher Kinyua, Nyamboga George Nyanaro, Edwin Kola Muwanga, Muriithi Antony, and Charity Chepkoech. This achievement underscores the positive impact of the mentorship program on the academic development of our students.

This donation, made during KMCO’s Customer Service Week, and the continued support from distinguished legal professionals like Prof. Muigua and Adv. Njuguna significantly enhances the learning resources available to our students and contributes to the overall academic excellence of the University of Embu School of Law. It also serves as an inspiring example of how law firms can give back to educational institutions and support the next generation of legal professionals.
